An Analysis of Translation Accuracy in Novel The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

Abstract
This study examined the translation accuracy of English noun phrases into Indonesian in novel The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley and its translation. This study used qualitative methods because the data are in the form of text. To assess the translation, this study used the translation quality assessment by Nababan et al., focusing on the aspect of accuracy. The result of this study showed that the majority of the translated noun phrases in novel The War That Saved My Life are considered accurate translations. 78.33% data is classified as accurate, indicating that there is no distortion of the meaning of the source text in the target text. 13.33% data is classified as less accurate, showing that there is some distortion or omission of meaning that can disrupt the message's integrity. 8.33% is classified as inaccurate, indicating that certain information from the source text was omitted in the target text. The findings indicated that the overall quality of the translation is accurate, as the majority of the translation of noun phrases effectively maintain the intended meaning of the source text.
