Integrating SLA to Enhancing Bilingual Skills in Developing Vocabulary, Speaking, Listening and Reading through Storytelling

Abstract
Examines the influence of enhancing bilingual skills by storytelling among elementary school students grade 1-6 at Mamina English Course Batam. The participants are Elementary school students between the ages of 6-12 years old. They are from some different elementary school at Batam. The participants, aged 6-12 years, are from various elementary schools in Batam. The research examines how interactive and engaging storytelling activities can foster vocabulary development, and enhance listening, speaking, and reading skills. Furthermore, the study delves into the cultural awareness and cognitive benefits associated with bilingual storytelling. Through qualitative analysis of student feedback, interviews, and observations, the findings suggest that incorporating storytelling in bilingual education not only improves language proficiency but also significantly motivates students by making learning more enjoyable and memorable. The study highlights the role of storytelling in creating an inclusive and culturally aware learning environment. It emphasizes that storytelling, as an ancient form of communication, is an effective pedagogical tool that caters to diverse learning needs and supports the holistic development of language skills in young learners. The research underscores the importance of innovative teaching methods in bilingual education to address the challenges of traditional language teaching methods and to better engage students in the learning process.
