Abstract

This study examines the experiences of undergraduate students in an Educational Psychology course, focusing on how they connect theory with practice. Using narrative research methods, the study follows two students: one who concentrated on understanding theories and another who prioritized applying them in real-life situations. Data were gathered through interviews, reflection journals, and coursework, revealing their challenges and growth. The findings show that the students struggled with complex theories like behaviorism and constructivism, but these difficulties motivated them to learn more deeply. Their learning was shaped by motivation, emotions, and cognitive development. Activities such as lesson planning and using technology helped them see how educational theories apply in real classrooms. The course sparked their curiosity and strengthened their resolve to become effective educators. By combining theory with practical strategies, they gained confidence in meeting diverse student needs. This study emphasizes the importance of linking psychological concepts to real-world teaching and offers practical advice for educators to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences. Educational Psychology proved to be a valuable foundation for preparing future teachers, equipping them with the tools to succeed in their roles and respond to the dynamic needs of students in the classroom.
