From Uncomfortable to Confident; Building Self-Confidence in Public Speaking

Abstract
Public speaking is an essential skill that plays a crucial role in personal and professional development. Despite its importance, many individual struggle with glossophobia, the fear of speaking in public, which often leads to avoidance and intense anxiety during such situations, This article highlights the significance of public speaking beyond education, emphasizing its contributions to building confidence, enhancing communication skills, fostering leadership, inspiring others and supporting career growth. Drawing from personal experience and interviews, it explores practical strategies to overcome public speaking fear, including thorough preparation, consistent practice, maintaining a positive mindset, mindfulness techniques, and visualization. These approaches not only reduce nervousness but also enhance performance, enabling individuals to feel more comfortable and focused during presentations. By implementing these methods speaker can transform their fear into confidence and empower themselves to deliver impactful messages effectively. This study underscores the transformative power of public speaking as a tool for personal growth, leadership, and audience engagement.
